Single Malt Whisky from Scotland Tasting with National Geographic Photographer Jim Richard

Join Jim Richardson for an evening exploring Scottish whisky country with a celebration of single malt whiskies on Thursday,  June 20th at 6pm.

Over the last 25 years Jim has been exploring Scotland for National Geographic, photographing the Highlands and islands, exploring its ancient history and traditions — and focusing a great deal of attention on whisky country. This evening brings it all together as Jim shares his photography from Scotland, weaves in the history and lore of Scottish whisky distilling, and tells tales from this legendary land — which you can enjoy with a fine dram of single malt whisky in your hand.

You’ll enjoy drams from five distilleries representing the classic whisky regions of Scotland, each with a story to tell and a distinctive character to savor. If you think all whiskies are pretty much the same you are in for a BIG surprise! And you go away from the evening with obtuse distillery names like Laphroaig rolling off the tip of your tongue, a sure way to impress friends and colleagues.

Featured Whisky:
Highland: Glenmorangie 10 year
Islay: Ardbeg 10 year
Island: Isle of Raasy
Speyside: Balvenie Doublewood 12 year
Lowland: Exclusive Malt Port Dundas 25 year

Jim has been honing this whisky tastings for years, presenting to National Geographic LIVE audiences in Washington DC, on exclusive cruises of the British Isles, and working with several Scottish distilleries to tell their tale.

It’s sure to be a fun evening in a great venue, here at The Farm and Odd Fellows in Minneapolis, Kansas.
